When I moved back to the US last year, I'll be honest - one thing I was excited about was the need for sandals again!! I certainly wore them in London in the summer but the season was so brief there that one pair was plenty. For a shoe addict such as myself, the need for a few additional footwear options was appealing! I am a big fan of these ones, and these wedges too (although there aren't many reasons to wear heels when chasing children) but the beaded thongs I found via Asos scream 'summer!' to me. I love the hint of mint green mixed in with the silver!
I bought this mosaic print miniskirt over a year ago in London...basically, right before I found out I was pregnant. I didn't know if I'd ever have a reason to wear it again. You've got to love The Creative Closet for that reason! A mini is such a great 'dressy' alternative to shorts for beating the heat in the throes of summer. It was 90 degrees so the cardigan didn't stay on for long but I love the neon placket of it, and the crochet detailing on the back of the swing top. I wear basics most of the time, so I'm always happy if I can find one with an interesting or unique detail to it.
I'm just going to take a minute and admire the look of the fresh mulched flower beds...it was only done this week and we're off on holidays soon so I will only get to enjoy the lack of weeds for a couple of days!
