The Adventures of Bug and Boo

Will You Be Mine?

Valentine's Day approaches...and I can't help but wonder if M and I will be celebrating 'the day of love', or if this baby has other plans...we shall see! :)

In preparation of the ever faint possibility of a date night, and the helpful prompt from Jana and Maegen this week, I pulled this dress out of my closet. One of the reasons I love date night / date day / going out and doing something out of the ordinary with M is because it gives me a great excuse to wear something that is also 'out of the ordinary' from my usual mommy uniform! I bought this dress when I was pregnant with Bug, to wear to my niece's christening. I ended up wearing a different dress, but the other day I saw the color of it peeking out of my maternity black and grey pieces and decided this would definitely suit for a Valentine's date. It's not exactly pink or red, but I consider coral a romantic, feminine color as well.

I think this may be the one and only exception to the 'belt it' rule for maternity wear. It came with a detachable belt but either the cut doesn't suit a belt or I am just too big to make it work - so I left it swingy and popped on simple grey heels and some long dangly earrings in rose gold with a pink beaded accent. (I realize now I forgot a bag - yikes, serious baby brain action there!) This looks very springy - I'm so sick of winter weather that I must have done that subconsciously - but if I threw on the grey fuzzy wrap that I wore with the other maternity party dress I own, it would definitely suit for this cold.
