Style Pinspiration - A Mirror Image

Rebecca O'LoughlinComment

Who doesn't love Pinterest? Seriously - I don't know what we did without it. I get so much inspiration from those boards; everything from new recipes to try, indoor activities to keep Bug interested and occupied during these loooong stretches of insanely cold weather, and of course, outfit ideas. (If we're not Pinterest friends yet, you can find my boards here!)

Enter this week's Creative Closet prompt from Jana and Maegen! Take a pin and recreate it. Fun, right? Given my current 'about-to-pop' status, I decided to use my maternity style board as that would be easier for me to mimic. I had some cute outfits pinned from both Grace at Camp Patton and Audrey at Putting Me Together - both have great style, maternity and non! - but I ended up with this look from Audrey. I wasn't sure if the dress would work given how much bigger I am from the last time I wore it, but I think it still looks pretty good. In fact, I like the look so much that I wish I decided to do the photos on Sunday - I would have been wearing it for my surprise shower! :)

Belts are one of those accessories that I haven't invested much in. I have a handful of belts, most of them are attached to a dress or a skirt and all of them are black and brown. This may be something to play with more in the future, because I love the color pop of Audrey's belt against her dress. Since a dark belt couldn't be seen against the charcoal grey of the dress, I pulled out this pretty silk scarf that M gave me a while back, and miracle of miracles - it fit! I think the colors suit the bag and necklace too.

Do you have a go-to board that you reference often for style ideas? Have you ever recreated a style directly from a pin? :)
