So today is Tuesday, which is normally the day where I join Life Could Be a Dream & The Modern Tulip for their 'The Creative Closet' endeavour....except today's prompt was 'White Hot' - and friends, I am shocked to say that I don't own anything white!!! I was tearing through my closet yesterday looking and searching, thinking I *must* have something. Well, besides that cream blouse I wore for 'Classy Neutrals,' I only have 3 white camisoles that I wear underneath shirts when I think they're too low-cut, or that I wear to bed. Not really the type of thing I want to showcase in a photo. How sad is that?!?
I think it must stem from my bad habit of spilling things. My mom still won't give me a full glass of anything to drink - partly because she swears I won't drink it (and I won't - I don't know why but it takes me hours to finish a drink!!) and mostly because she swears I will spill it somehow. Now I haven't done this regularly in a long time (I was pretty clumsy as a kid), but I do still have a tendency to 'smudge' myself with things. Coffee drips, ketchup spots, ink marks, etc etc. And of course, these days, sticky little fingers get all up in my business all day long and end up leaving streaks and marks on everything I own. So....not that surprising I guess that I've unintentionally boycotted white clothing.
However, it did make me sad that I couldn't pretend to be a fashion blogger today, and that I couldn't join in on the Creative Closet fun. :( So instead I am sharing the cute little outfits I bought Bug today as her farewell to London wardrobe! See, we had to go and buy new shoes because her feet grew a size, and while we were waiting for her fitting appointment we wandered next door to Next, which makes fun adult clothes but also ADORABLE children's clothes. And this is what I picked up without even thinking about the fact that American clothes are soooo much more affordable....oops. (Sorry honey. Last splurge before we go!!) ;)
I think they're pretty stinkin' cute. And obviously I HAD to buy the ladybug sweatshirt!
For next week I will have to try a little harder with my own wardrobe. Especially as it is shrinking! Shockingly - perhaps because it's the 2nd time round? - I have already lost the ability to snap my regular jeans at only 12 weeks....but it feels way too early for maternity wear!!! Oh well. Perhaps I will just have to do a teensy bit of shopping when I land in NY...just a little... ;)
