The Creative Closet: My Go-To Piece

Rebecca O'LoughlinComment

Good morning! It's another beautiful, sunny day in England today (I never thought I'd be saying that for weeks in a row here!).

Today is the weekly linkup with Jana from Life Could Be a Dream & Maegan from The Modern Tulip for the creative closet - my attempt at reworking my wardrobe and finding new life in old pieces! This week's prompt for the Creative Closet was 'my go-to piece.' Thankfully, after last week's pattern mind-boggle, this is an easy one. I consider something my go-to if it's comfortable, easy, I feel put-together when I'm wearing it, and I actually *do* wear it again and again. For me, that's a dress! There is seriously nothing simpler than putting on a dress. It's one piece, so you don't have to fuss about trying to find a matching bottom or top, and all you have to do is add accessories! It's one-stop-shopping at its best.

I chose one of my casual dresses, because I've worn it for a lot of different occasions - a simple day of errands, brunch with the girls, a day out as a family. That's another reason I like dresses - changing the accessories changes the look up completely, giving you so many more options for wearing it. I love the lace across the top, the drop waist (making this the perfect dress to eat a huge meal in..!), and the lightweight jersey material.

I have to admit - I feel like such a dork posing for outfit photos. You can totally tell how awkward I feel in these haha! As I said when I started, this was far out of my comfort zone, and it still is...but I'm enjoying finding new outfits and exploring new prompts, so I am sticking with it. :)

What do you consider your go-to piece?
