The Adventures of Bug and Boo

Wedding Weekend

Uh oh. I still don't know what I'm wearing to the wedding tomorrow!

It's 11:30pm - we will be heading into town in less than 12 hours and I haven't the foggiest what to wear. My options are all from pre baby times so I probably ought to have tried them on by now to see if they still fit....fingers are crossed ever so tightly. I suppose there is always the bin bag option. (Let's hope it doesn't come to that. )

Never fear though - Bug's outfit is all planned out and ready to go! Her dress is hanging neatly on a hanger with the socks and bodysuit, and an extra dress is hanging behind it. Clearly my priorities are in order.

Regardless of the clothing problem, I am excited for the wedding tomorrow - of course I am, two of our lovely friends are getting married! It's going to be in St Katherine's Docks, which is a gorgeous part of London near Tower Bridge, and also happens to be across from -and next to- two of the neighborhoods I lived in before we came out to the 'burbs. It will be a trip to be back there, with Bug in my arms this time.

I'm also a little apprehensive at the same time. All three of us are going, so I probably won't relax at any point because I"ll be too busy watching her like a hawk and hoping that she behaves, decides to eat whatever they serve, doesn't throw food at people or on the floor, has no tantrums...basically that she is a completely different child tomorrow. I know it's all a phase but she's at that age now where she flips out if she doesn't get her way. And I don't want to be that parent who is getting pitying looks from everyone because their child is flinging themselves on the floor and kicking and screaming. I'm also hoping she sleeps at the hotel. She had one of the worst nights ever, the last time we stayed at one. And she's not having a great one tonight, already. Darn teeth!

That being said, it will be so nice to be at this wedding as a family. It's the first time we're doing it and will be pretty special. (I'm hoping I don't pull a 'Rebecca' and forget to take pictures like I always do!) I doubt that Bug and I will make it to the music, we'll head back to the hotel for normal bedtime, but I kind of hope we get at least one song. The last wedding that M and I were at together was ours!! (I think. I'm pretty sure. It's late and I'm tired.) I'm off to go dream about ill-fitting dresses and tantrums on the dance floor.

Don't forget - Sunday is Father's Day!! M will be celebrating by driving us home through London traffic. Are you doing anything special with your dad / partner / grandfather / other? :)

Have a great weekend!!
