The Adventures of Bug and Boo

Happy Mother's Day!!

And here is the reason for today, and for everything I do these days...introducing, my beautiful little lovebug - aka Bug. (I know, she's going to hate that nickname later on. Tough noogies.)

She's happily checking out the 'rocking vehicles' at the local garden centre here. She had to try each and every ride-on toy, just one of the many reasons she cracks me up every day. :)

My little lovebug was born on the 12th of February, 2013 - not quite as little as I'd expected though, she ended up close to 8.5 lbs....ooomph. So today is my second year celebrating Mother's Day as a mom, although last year I was so cracked out from lack of sleep I think I probably grunted something that was hopefully equivalent to 'thanks' when M gave me the lovely present he had 'helped' Bug get me. That lack of sleep they talk about is a seeeeerious problemo for new moms, let me tell you.

Here I am a week in or so, looking fantastically exhausted and swollen. Must have had a stiff neck from breastfeeding so much, Bug was stuck to me almost every hour for the first few months. Yay..

Pure exhaustion...

Pure exhaustion...

But it's all worth it, really - for the joyful moments she brings into my life, for the full arms-wrapped-around-my-neck hugs she's just started doling out like candy, for the cheeky grins she aims at me when she's about to do something naughty. She's my little bugaboo and I am wholly devoted to her happiness and wellbeing now. Makes me appreciate my mom soooo much more!!!

Much love to all the mamas out there - you're doing an AWESOME job!!! xo
